Ascending Families, LLC was founded in 2006, doing business as Visit and Exchange Solutions.
An agency providing professional supervised visitation didn't renew the contract that funded supervised visitation and many families were displaced with no options to visit locally. They were forced to travel a minimum of forty miles in traffic, to receive services. Lilly thought it was unjust to force families to commute to see their child(ren) so Ascending Families, LLC was founded and has been growing strong ever since.
Ascending Families, LLC's biggest accomplishments to date include, working in collaboration with the Judicial Counsel and CASVSP on a special project, contracting with DFCS to provide services for non-reunifying parents, and launching Family Matters a 501c3 company.
Lilly Maggiolo has over 21 years of experience working with dependency, probate, and family court cases. She began her career in 1999 coordinating two programs at a non-profit. She worked with youth in dependency, emancipated youth, and teen moms. The supervised visitation program director was impressed by her skill set, hard work, and dedication to keeping kids safe. Lilly's special skill set was recognized. As such, she was recruited into the supervised visitation program.
Lilly left the agency in 2000 but kept her PT role in the supervised visitation program. She enjoyed the report writing aspect and the responsibility of keeping kids safe. She found that she had a passion for the work. So much so that she often volunteered to fill in for other monitors when they were out. It was not for monetary compensation but for the intrinsic reward her contribution offered.
Ascending Families, LLC has four team members each with a special skill set. One monitor has over six years of experience working with special needs children, another is bi-lingual in Spanish with training in domestic violence and sexual assault, and another specializes in working with dependency cases and criminal court Ascending Families, LLC grateful for the opportunity to be involved with SNV, CASVSP, the judicial counsel, and local courts in Santa Clara, San Benito, Monterey, and Santa Cruz County.
